After a day of drinking up the sunshine, it’s time for a night of drinking in the good times at some of the best bars, taverns, pubs and lounges on The Beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel. Put on a smile and raise a glass – we’re going out. Cheers!
For great drink and food specials plus a great view, Fort Myers and Sanibel are a happy hour hunter’s dream come true. Pinchers has 2-for-1 happy hour all day, every day, and food specials are available from 3–6 pm daily. To plant your feet in the sand while you sip, head to The Cottage Beach Bar where you can play or watch a game of cornhole next to the shore. If pool is more your thing, saddle up at Cowboy Up Saloon, an authentic western joint. And because a cocktail with a view always inspires a better night, stop by Bayfront Bistro, which offers 50% off select appetizers and drinks (or try a $5 signature cocktail!)
After Happy Hour tick-tocks away, all hands point to the Fort Myers’ River District. The Firestone features four levels of fun overlooking the bay, and you have your choice to imbibe at their rooftop Sky Bar, or the Martini Bar. Feeling like a VIP? Call and request bottle service for your group. If you’re looking for a quieter, quainter atmosphere (and a choice of over 30 wines by the glass), head to Twisted Vine Bistro – or choose from over 200-bottles at Bistro 41. For those who want to have a blast in the past, sneak into The 86 Room, a prohibition-era-inspired speakeasy.
The sun’s down. The day’s done. It’s time for some nightlife. If you want to show off your dance moves, head to The Buddha Nightclub – the drinks are cold, the music is loud and the crowd is electric. Or plant yourself at The Firestone for late-night live music in the Martini Bar, or really late night DJ-spun music at the rooftop Sky Bar. Back at The Cottage Beach Bar (or maybe you never left!) the relaxed vibe gets amped up with live music. End your evening at Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille the only way possible with a signature mojito.
Of course, it goes without saying that we encourage you to drink responsibly. There are numerous cabs and Uber drivers who will be happy to get you home safely. Have a group and don’t want to drive? Book The Ku-Ku Trolley, which operates in Fort Myers, Sanibel (and beyond). Cruise around town in their classic San Francisco Streetcars, wherever you want to go (you can even dance inside).
Whether you’re a local or local visitor, you’re drinking in the nightlife is always fun. And if you’re looking for more options to make your evening hours happy, keep exploring here.
