Cape Coral

For many, spring break is a time to unwind and rest. For others, it’s reserved for partying and adventure. Luckily, on The Beaches of Fort Myer & Sanibel, you’ll find the best of both worlds and more. Whether you’re looking to relax or let loose, shop or sight-see – our top ten spring break stops will make it a week you’ll never forget.

Lani Kai Island Resort

If you’re searching for a party HQ on Fort Myers Beach, this list might as well begin and end with the Lani Kai. This adults-only resort features a heated pool, three tiki bars, two rooftop restaurants and an onsite dance club where local DJs spin nightly. And while the amenities here are worth smiling about – the real fun takes place on the beach out back. On any given day during spring break, you’re liable to find hundreds of people partying in the sand, as well as an armada of boats anchored offshore looking to catch a glimpse of the fun. The Lani Kai is located at 1400 Estero Boulevard on Fort Myers Beach.

Adventures in Paradise

Learn to fish during an offshore excursion with Adventures in Paradise. Their Backwater Fishing cruise is the perfect outing for experienced anglers and first-time fishers alike. The captain and crew of the ship ferry you into the teeming, shallow waters of San Carlos Bay. Then, they’ll teach you how to cast, reel and even bait the hook. With all equipment provided by the staff, the only thing you need to bring is your sea legs. Adventures in Paradise is located at 14341 Port Comfort Road in Fort Myers.

Smokin’ Oyster Brewery

Grab a drink with the locals at Smokin’ Oyster Brewery. Their motto, “Happiness is great food, good drink and good friends” sets the scene for the welcoming and fun-loving atmosphere you’ll find inside. And, while they don’t actually brew it onsite, their house draft – a Red Amber Ale called S.O.B.’s “What-a-beer” – is certainly worth toasting. Order a pint and pull up a seat on the outside deck where you can enjoy live music from 6 to 10 pm nightly. Smokin’ Oyster Brewery is located at 340 Old San Carlos Boulevard on Fort Myers Beach.

Junkanoo Beach Bar and Dance Club

Named after the traditional Boxing Day street parade, music and dance festival that takes place each year in the Bahamas, this bar brings the vibe of the Caribbean to Southwest Florida. Here, you can fill up on pizza, burgers and seafood and then whet your whistle with a wide selection of tropical cocktails. Plus, with beach cabanas, wave runners and kayaks available to rent right outside, you can make a day of your stay at this bar “where the party never ends.” Junkaroo Beach Bar and Dance Club is located at 3040 Estero Boulevard on Fort Myers Beach.

Periwinkle Place

Slip away from the shore and spend the day shopping at this seven-acre retail oasis, which feels more like the grounds of a luxury resort than it does a mall. The Mucky Duck

Voted one of the Best Hidden Beach Bars in America by Men’s Journal, The Mucky Duck is the Captiva Island favorite that almost never was. In 1975, two entrepreneurs bought the property with the intent of converting it into a rental house. But, when the two discovered an expired beer and wine license that could be renewed for only $100 – they knew what had to be done. Doors opened on this beachside bungalow the following year and the Mucky Duck has been serving drinks in the sand ever since. The Mucky Duck is located 11546 Andy Rosse Lane in Captiva.
