Early risers rejoice. The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel have you covered with some incredible breakfast spots. If you’re a not-so-early riser, the brunch is just as good.
Heavenly Biscuit on Fort Myers Beach isn’t much bigger than a home kitchen, but it’s a go-to spot for breakfast for locals and visitors alike. As its name implies, they have delicious biscuits and gravy, as well as hearty breakfast sandwiches made with biscuits, but the menu item that everyone raves about is the Sinful Cinnamon Roll. Bring an appetite though; they’re not small and neither are any of their other portions.
Definitely worth a stop after an early morning fishing trip, R.C. Otter's on Captiva Island has beachy takes on classic breakfast dishes, like crab and eggs benedict and seafood omelets. If you’re looking for something a little sweeter, the blueberry and granola pancakes are pretty dang good.
Voted a “Top 5 Breakfast in Florida!” by Southern Living Magazine, The Island Cow on Sanibel Island is a fun spot to grab breakfast with the family and play some games outdoors. Their muffins are worth the trip alone, and you literally can’t miss them as they’re complimentary with any meal.
Sanibel Café, also on Sanibel Island (as you might expect), has been a local favorite for breakfast for over 30 years. Its fossilized seashell countertops are usually loaded with island breakfast specialties like alligator and eggs (you read that right), and smoked salmon and capers benedict.
If you’re looking to get your shmear on, try The Bagel Factory with locations in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Kettle-boiled and baked, these bagels are delicious enough to rival anything in New York and are topped with anything from chicken salad to huevos rancheros.
