Florida may not be known for crisp fall air or scenic foliage, but Fort Myers & Sanibel has its fair share of festivities to get you in the autumn spirit. From tricks and treats to family-fun events, check out these spots to get your fall fix in Southwest Florida.

Lakes Park Fall Festival & Pumpkin Patch

This long-running fall festival takes place at Lakes Regional Park from mid to end of October. Complete with a pumpkin patch, bounce houses, hayrides, and concessions. Be sure to check out the “Scarecrows in the Park” competition, where the local community displays their scarecrows dressed in their favorite book characters. Scenic views of gourds, mini villages, and a waterfall make the Halloween Express Train ride a kid favorite every year. Better yet, the fall festival is free to attend, and extra activities, like hayrides and inflatables, cost just a few bucks. 

Koreshan State Park –Family Halloween Festival

Stop by Koreshan State Park for a family-friendly Halloween festival with games, live music and a children’s parade. This event also features “trunk-or-treating,” where local businesses decorate their car trunks and give away candy – it’s all fun and no fright.

Spooktacular Trolley Event

If you’re 21 or older, dress up and head to downtown Cape Coral for the Spooktacular Trolley Event, where you can jump on board an exclusive trolley and ride to Cape Coral’s best bars (you can also walk). The night includes trolley trivia and a cash prize for best costume. Plus, all participants get candy and a free drink sample at each stop.

Farmer Mike’s Annual Fall Festival

Farmer Mike’s Annual Fall Festival in Bonita Springs has something for everyone. If it's a real pumpkin patch you seek, this place is for you! That's right, you can pick your pumpkin right off the vine. The farm offers a family-friendly corn maze and also a haunted corn maze - which is known to be one of the area's best haunted attractions during the fall season. 

Gator Mikes Haunted Hike

As day slips into the darkness of night, take a frightful hike through this haunted walk crawling with monsters, ghouls and ghastly ghosts. This fall-time favorite is expanding this year so be sure stay tuned to their website for more details.

Millennial Brewing's Oktoberfest

No fall celebration is complete without a nice crisp beer to tap off the season. This event gets bigger and better every year. Bring the whole family (including your dog) out for the festivities which include a stein hoisting competition, bounce houses for the kids, authentic German food, and of course plenty of beer to go around. Enjoy flavors of pumpkin, ciders, and even Bavarian styles.
