Fall chills and spooky vibes are here!

Feeling Spooktacular in the Sunshine

Even though our days are drenched in sunlight, we still know how to lean into the most fun parts of autumn. Chill out at a family-friendly pumpkin fest or feel the thrill of a haunted Halloween happening.

Celebrate the arrival of fall at Farmer Mike’s Annual Fall Festival & Corn Mazes. Every weekend at the Bonita Springs and Fort Myers farm locations, you can choose your favorite pumpkin and hop on a hayride. The 5-acre corn maze is always a challenge, especially after dark when your path is only illuminated by flashlights. Up for a true test of wills? See if you can handle the 10-acre corn maze filled with terrifying twists and turns at the Bonita Springs location.

Seeing scarecrows dressed as famous movie characters is just part of the charm at the Lakes Regional Park Children’s Garden. See the friendly scarecrows between Oct. 13–29, and enjoy other family-friendly activities like a pumpkin patch, hayrides and the Halloween Express Train ride.

Families can also join in the fun at Koreshan State Park for all-ages trunk-or-treating, games and live music. It’s already believed that the park is haunted by its notorious inhabitant, Dr. Cyrus Teed, a century after he lived here — but during Halloween you can count on a friendly good time.

Southern Fresh Farms Family Adventure Outdoor Children

With farm-fresh food and an on-site brewery, the Southern Fresh Farms Fall Festival is all about the flavors of fall. Every weekend in October, this family-friendly festival celebrates with pumpkins, hayrides and a petting zoo.

What better way to celebrate the best of October than an old-fashioned Oktoberfest? During the last two weekends of October, the German American Social Club hosts Cape Coral’s Oktoberfest, inviting everyone to don their dirndls and celebrate in an outdoor biergarten.

Or head straight to a brewery for more festive fun: Millennial Brewing Co. kicks off its Oktoberfest event Sept. 29–Oct. 1, featuring craft beers, seasonal brews, German cuisine, and lively competitions over axe throwing and stein hoisting. Fort Myers Brewing Company brings out its famous Oktoberfest brew and other seasonal beers, highlighted in a special event Oct. 12–15.

Thrill-seekers come in droves for the Spooktacular Trolley Event in Cape Coral. Dressed in your best costume, you can ride a spooky-themed trolley to bars around town, where Halloween candy and specialty drinks (Boozy Screamsicle, anyone?) are waiting. The evening includes trolley trivia and a costume contest.
