Event wins four awards from Florida Festival & Events Association

LEE COUNTY, FLORIDA – Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau received top honors for the Island Hopper Songwriter Fest, its nationally recognized festival. The event, which brings dozens of singer-songwriters to Captiva, Fort Myers Beach and downtown Fort Myers, won four Sunsational Awards from the Florida Festival & Events Association (FFEA).

The songwriter fest received first place awards for the event’s outdoor ad and social media ad campaign, and second place honors for program/event guide/brochure and for its website.

Representing 3,500 events throughout the state, FFEA promotes the festival, event and fair industry. The Lee County festival competed against 120 events including top festivals such as the Florida State Fair and Coconut Grove Arts Fest.

“The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau is honored to accept recognition from Florida Festivals & Events Association,” said Nancy MacPhee, product development manager. “Now in its fourth year, Island Hopper is poised to become one of the top signature events in Florida.”

The songwriter festival takes place over 10 days on Southwest Florida’s most beautiful barrier islands and offers a range of star-studded performances. The 2017 Island Hopper Songwriter Fest runs from Sept. 22-Oct. 1, 2017. It is presented by the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau, BMI, the largest music rights organization in the U.S., iHeartMedia and Cat Country 107.1.
