The Port Boca Grande Lighthouse was built in 1890 and is the oldest structure on Gasparilla Island. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is still an active aid to navigation today and the light can be seen 12 miles out to sea. This historic treasure houses a museum that takes visitors on a historical journey from the time of the Calusa Indians all the way to today. The gift shop at the end is a great place to take home a treasure of your visit to the beautiful Port Boca Grande Lighthouse and Museum.
