Taste of the Islands is the longest running and largest fundraiser for the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW). It is typically held on a Sunday in November with a dozen or so restaurants offering their tastes for the patrons in a festival style setting, but this year, the event has moved into the restaurants and has been extended throughout the month of November.
“Everyone has had a pretty rough year, so we are excited to be able to encourage diners to come to the islands, to visit the restaurants themselves all while helping to raise money for wildlife and keeping our community healthy,” say Alison Charney Hussey, executive director for CROW.
Each of the 31 participating restaurants are offering their “Taste” items to showcase their cuisine throughout the month of November. A portion of the proceeds from those designated food and beverage “Tastes” sold will be donated to CROW. The restaurants' dishes will also be competing for honors in different categories such as Best Appetizer and Best Dessert as determined by a panel of 'celebrity judges'.
Diners can purchase a Passport to track their visits and dishes they have tried. Passport holders are also eligible to vote for the coveted People's Choice Award for favorite restaurant and be entered for a chance to win vacation stays, jewelry, gift certificates and more!
