New Year, New Experiences in Fort Myers

Take a fresh look at Southwest Florida with brand-new things to do and recent openings. What’s on your to-do list in 2024?

Play by the bay.

Playing a new golf course is always a hit, and the newly opened Saltleaf Golf Preserve is an experience unlike any other. Set beside Estero Bay, Florida’s first aquatic preserve, this unique course is intentionally crafted to protect the land on which it lies. A challenging 18-hole course is shaped in harmony with the 144-acre uplands preserve. There are no private residences, and the terrain has been minimally transformed with native plants, lakes and trails winding through pristine spaces. A fun nine-hole course for kids makes this a destination for all ages.

Get social.

A perfect night out doesn’t exi — wait! Welcome to BackYard Social. Grab bites from eight innovative food trucks, including seafood, barbecue and Venezuelan cuisine. Sip a signature drink, frozen or on the rocks, or make it a real night to remember with an oversized cocktail made for two. Kick back with friends and enjoy interactive games and live music every week.

Margaritaville Resort

Discover a new beachfront resort.

Margaritaville is more than a state of mind! Margaritaville Resort, set on the Gulf of Mexico and the Matanzas Bay, proudly celebrated its grand opening on Fort Myers Beach and the amenities are already flowing. Jump into the 380,000-gallon pool and chill out by a fire pit at License to Chill Bar & Grill where you can watch the sun go down in a fiery spectacle. Overlooking the Gulf, Lah De Dah Beach Bar & Grill is another perfect place for local food and a menu full of margaritas and more.

Pick your produce.

When the sun shines all winter long, you’ll be inspired to treat yourself to fresh food and nourishing ingredients. Just in time for harvest, Farmer Mike’s U Pick has opened a new location in Fort Myers. Its original location in Bonita Springs is still open for business, and now those closer to Fort Myers can enjoy a 60-acre farm on Gladiolus Drive that carries over 300 varieties of vegetables. Best of all, this location is open year round.
