Fort Myers will take the world stage in 2009 when the city hosts the, a fleet that competed in the Beijing Paralympics and raced in the 2008 World Championships in the Canary Islands. The Fort Myers River District will serve as the headquarters for the seven-day regatta with competition along the Caloosahatchee. The Edison Sailing Center in Fort Myers will host the championships along with the Lee County Sports Authority, the City of Fort Myers, and community sponsors. |
