Lakes Regional Park opens water play area The new 4,000-square-foot water play area makes a splash at Lakes Regional Park in south Fort Myers.
The 3,800-gallon water play area includes misting palm trees, a cool bench and dew drop umbrella, a ship’s mast, two water cannons, a large and small water arch and two foam geysers. The popcorn jets – two mini and one large – are popular with toddlers. Water gurgles up from the ground to the delight of kids. The deck is surrounded by a four-foot-high fence for safety and is fully automated with strike guard lighting protection. Restrooms and showers are nearby. Admission to the water play area is free, as is admission to the park. Both are open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset. Parking is $1 an hour or $5 a day. The park is at 7330 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers. Find more information about the park at www.LeeParks.org or call 239-432-2034.
