Betsy Clayton is the waterways coordinator for Lee County, Fla., Parks & Recreation. She markets and coordinates the Calusa Blueway, a 190-mile mile marked canoe, kayak and standup paddleboard (SUP) trail through Southwest Florida’s backbays, tidal creeks and rivers. She coordinates the Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival, a four-day countywide eco-festival that has been dubbed North America’s fastest-growing canoe and kayak event.
